Maxpedition Sitka Gearslinger

Though the Sitka is the smallest bag in the Maxpedition Gearslinger line, don’t be fooled. This single-shoulder backpack isn’t lacking in capability or endurance. 618 cubic inches within high grade closed-cell foam padding can hold just about anything you might need for the day. Edge-to-edge PALS webbing means no limits when adding accessories or an extra storage pouch. Internal organization helps keep extra supplies, a multi-tool, or gadgets for your office all in their place and easily accessible. 1000-denier ballistic nylon and Teflon coating ensures it can withstand the elements, day in and day out. A full clamshell opening means storing everything you’ll need for the day is a (YKK) zipper away. Small but mighty, this bag makes no compromises.

    • Beyond The Traditional Back Pack. Way Beyond.

Foolish as this may sound, I always try out new equipment in non-traditional ways. It's easy to fill it as one might to go wherever but quite another question to stuff it to the maximum one feels it can or should hold. In this case, I got about 52 kilos in it. What you don't see is how well thought out the strapping is not only to hold whatever you're carrying, but how well it attaches to you; I've seen too many men going through airports trying to center their packs refuse to stay in one place. The object here is to spread the weight, whatever you've on loaded so that one doesn't list to port or starboard. Also, and this is peculiar to me, my left shoulder was replaced so I can only take so much weight and pressure in that area. The Gearslinger almost seems to want to hold on to me rather than the reverse. And, this wasn't a consideration, my regular luggage is made from flexible rough out and, when it's all side by each, there's a familial look. As I've examined it, what I've found is that there are uses to be made that only the user will find as the need occurs. Well constructed, it could also, in extremis, be dis-assembled and made into a sling, a partial tent, tie downs for a kill... Did I mention I like it? I meant to.

    • Toughest bags, excellent quality.

Carry to work while riding my motorcycle. I can slide to the front with little effort. Comfortable, big enough for my needs, at the same time sleek enough for comfort. Two things I would preferred different, high visibility interior for both front pouches and maxpedition zipper pulls instead of the paracord ones that come with the bag (I replaced them, but their nine to replace and that added to the cost of a already pricey product)

Well constructed and heavy duty. I use this pack daily as an LE professional, perfectly sized for a laptop with plenty of room left over for "other" equipment.

I got this bag to replace my everyday bag. That means it goes to work with me as well as weekend adventures. The material repeals water very well. I haven't been out for a long period in the rain. I think rain would penetrate around the zippers but I don't know yet. I packed a weekend trip this summer with no problem. The construction is solid. Everything on this bag is very satisfying. I'll need more time with it to really get a solid feel for it but, so far I am very happy with it.

The quality is great but the design is a little busy. This was supposed to replace my console pac , I knew it was bigger than the one it was replacing but it carries even larger than its dimensions. It’s a good pac , I’ll find a use for it

I am VERY IMPRESSED with Maxpedition's foresight here. It would seem that they have thought of every aspect of flexibility to the product.
