About Thorogood
- Back in 1892, Wienbrenner Shoe Company started out as a cobbler building boots for "jobbing" trades. As the demand of safety footwear grew, so did the need for more specialized boots that catered to the needs of specific industries. The Thorogood brand was officially introduced in 1918 as a maker of work boots dedicated to particular occupations. Durable to down to the sole, Thorogood footwear strives to create products for those employed in the military, tactical and other labor-intensive fields. The boots offer lasting support with composite shanks and a two-density rubber outsole with integrated EVA impact pads. Thorogood's boots work just as hard as the people wearing them.

these boots are perfect! the sole is a little stiff at first. only a little though. and it broke in within two days for me. the leather is beautiful, the stitch is superb, and their comfortable. if youre looking for a good work boot or just a good pair of walking or hiking boots these are them. not to mention their big conversation pieces. constantly getting comments on them, mainly because people just dont wear boots with a wedge sole and an eight inch shaft anymore. id buy again in a heartbeat! yes their a little pricey, but their all leather and american made. and we all know we're not gonna get out of the recession economy if we dont start buying american made products again. so buy a pair and know youre getting a great pair of boots, while giving another man or woman in the states a job to boot. (pun intended)
